Magic School Bus Program

Due to the popularity of the program last year, the Fishers Island School and FI library once again sponsored the Magic School Bus Program for our island’s year-round elementary school students. Because our island parents work multiple jobs to support the summer population, they were frequently unable to transport and accompany their own children to the Library’s special programs. In brainstorming solutions to the transportation barrier, the Magic School Bus program was born.

This year Mrs. Eastman, grade 5/6 teacher and island community member, volunteered to be the bus driver. After actively participating in the library program conducted by Mystic Seaport, the students enjoyed ice cream treats at Toppers before being safely delivered home by the Magic School Bus.
