GUEST SPEAKER AUG 20: Kari Kastango
Join us at the Library for “Embracing the Connecticut River” – a conversation with Connecticut River Conservancy (CRC) Board of Trustees member, Kari Kastango.

Kari will share her story of resilience, discovery and adventure. Attendees will also learn about the challenges and logistics of this monumental undertaking. Kari will imbue attendees with a deepened appreciation of the Connecticut River and the ongoing work from source to sea to preserve and protect it.
Kari Kastango began her career as a research exercise physiologist (UMASS, Amherst ‘89, ‘92) which led her to pursue a PhD in Biostatistics (PITT ‘06). With 20+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, Kari currently works as a director of biostatistics at a clinical research organization. She balances professional and personal commitments through physical pursuits that are meditative in nature. Kari lives in South Hadley, MA with her wife, Alison Garvey, and their two cats. She has completed two ultra-distance triathlons on October 15, 2023 became the first person to swim the entire length of the 410-mile Connecticut River!
