SPEAKER SERIES: Women’s Sailing on Fishers

Presented at the Fishers Island Library on July 22, 2025, a distinguished group of women sailors shared their experiences on the water – both here on Fishers Island and around the world, and what sailing on Fishers has meant to them as they have journeyed out for competition on the international circuit.

This group is fresh off of their first-place finish at the inaugural EYC Women’s IOD Invitational held in Marblehead Massachusetts this past fall. Skipper Isabelle Farrar, accompanied by crew Megan Raymond, Jennifer Parsons, Beth Scholle, Erin Maxwell and Meris Enright, dominated the event with five first place finishes and one second place, leading them to overall victory. Amongst this group of sailors is an Olympian, multiple World Champions, Collegiate All-Americans, International Team Racers, and most recently, instructors in our Women’s Sailing Classes hosted out of FIYC.

Their stories of teamwork, competition, and adventure will captivate sailors and landlubbers alike!
