Join us Saturday, November 8, 2025, for an evening at the Library with Yaa Gyasi, acclaimed author of Homegoing and Transcendent Kingdom. Gyasi will share selections from her work and join in conversation with author and Library board member Anna Noyes.

About the Author
Yaa Gyasi was born in Mampong, Ghana and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. Her first novel, Homegoing, won the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Award for best first book, the PEN/Hemingway Award, the National Book Foundation’s “5 under 35” honors for 2016, and the American Book Award. Her second novel, Transcendent Kingdom, was a finalist for the Women’s Prize. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
Presented in collaboration with Lighthouse Works as part of the Harry S. Parker III Visiting Artist Program, which brings distinguished writers and artists to Fishers Island to engage with Lighthouse Works Fellows and the Island community.
