Jeanine Behr Getz is an author, environmental advisor and hiking enthusiast
Millicent (aka Milli) Getz is a rising junior at Wake Forest University, easy going, lover of life, and a reluctant hiking enthusiast! 😉
In 2017, Jeanine read a book titled “A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail”, by Bill Bryson, and upon completion it set into motion the idea of a 10-year mother daughter multi section hike from Georgia to Maine.
Each Spring since, they have tackled 150–300-mile sections, encountering the physical and mental challenges of adverse weather, wildlife and varied terrain while discovering the kindness of trail angels and the comradery of their fellow adventurers.
This mother-daughter team have two states and 400 miles left on their 2,200 mile AT journey, with plenty of stories, laughs and tears to share and perhaps inspire the hiker in you.
